Augustine & Rosalie Pinto Vintage Mudhead Ring

An exquisite example of the fine inlay work of famous old time Zuni silversmiths Augustine and Rosalie Pinto. This piece features coral, shell, turquoise and jet inlay set in a mother of pearl background solid piece. It is stamped with their initals ARP on the back of the ring along with their tribal affiliation Zuni. The ring measures 1 1/4 by 1 2/3 inches. It is approximately a size 7 3/4. This piece is an example of the Mudhead figure. Circa late 1960s, early 1970s. The condition of this piece is unbelievable: it appears to never have been worn. Augustine and Rosalie have both passed, but their work lives on in the art of their daughter Bev Estate.
