Bev Etsate Vintage Shalako Bolo

An impressive example of the fine raised inlay work of Zuni artist Bev Etsate. Bev's parents were the famed Augustine and Rosalie Pinto of Zuni. This piece is exceptional because it is an early example of Bev's work, from the 1970s. The detail is breathtaking, and the piece is in exceptional condition. The bolo features the Shalako kachina, and is represented on the main piece as well as the tips. The inlay is made up of coral, mother of pearl, turquoise, jet and golden mother of pearl. The back of the bolo has a flip clip and a handmade "guiding" piece toward the bottom. The artist has signed the main piece as well as both of the tips with "Bev Etsate Zuni" and "B. Estate Zuni". The main bolo piece measures 2 1/4 by 3 1/2 and the tips measure 1 1/8 by 1 2/3. The length of the cord is 42 inches, including the tips.
