Massive Blue Gem Bead & Sterling Barrell Necklace

The picture does not do justice to the sheer size of this piece! Hundreds of carats of natural Blue Gem turquoise are hand rolled into these beads. The stamped barrels and large stamped beads accent the turquoise marvelously. The necklace measures 29 inches long including the hand made hook and eye clasp. The piece is double strung on nylon cord. Five beads and sterling silver cones finish off each end. The beads range from 3/4 to 1/4 of an inch in diameter. This Blue Gem is the highly desirable deep green and is uniform in color throughout. Blotchy golden matrix, characteristic of Blue Gem is also present throughout the necklace. Circa late 1960s.
